When it gets dark, he comes to life,
slowly, he puts on his disguise
and crawls out into the streets.

His eyes are just two empty screens,
he's out for someone else's dreams,
draining life out of everyone he meets.

And even though you cannot cry
it hurts to watch other people's lives,
and even though it's just all lies
it hurts to watch other people sigh

He listens to the hollow sound
of broken homes, of creeping hounds,
of silhouettes and rain that hits his face.

Waiting for his heart to start
beating as he plays his part
in a failed attempt to live like they do.
