Danish composer Kenneth Dahl Knudsen gathers international jazz orchestra in vibrant debut album
A desire to share his compositions led Kenneth Dahl Knudsen to get back to his roots and create a jazz-inspired disc
• Double bass player Kenneth Dahl Knudsen will, together with the Kenneth Dahl Knudsen Orchestra, be releasing his debut album “We’ll meet in the rain” next May
• The album is compiled entirely of his own compositions and weaves between contemporary jazz and cinematic orchestral music
• Each piece speaks about Dahl Knudsen’s encounters with people, their stories and anecdotes
• Composed as a sensitive and introspective piece, his sound develops the intensity of emotions
behind each track
• With eclectic influences and inspiration from his home land, he invites you on a thoughtful jazz
journey
• Dahl Knudsen has already performed and recorded with artists such as John Scofield, Dick Oatts, Joel Frahm, Gilad Hekselman and Aaron Parks
• His international orchestra big band is made up of 19 soloists from all across Europe, sharing experiences adding diversity to the project
• The album is being released by Two Rivers Records, a new label founded by Alya Marquardt, that was conceived as a platform for daring interpretations and unconventional music
