DESCRIPTION:
The Saqqara Dogs were an 80's underground rock group who were inspired by psychedelic and ethnic music. This new video recaptures the essence of a live Saqqara Dogs show in NYC, 1980s. Redacted in 2009 with photographs taken by Ruby Ray in NYC and Egypt, 1986.
Enjoy! Saqqara Dogs were: Bond Bergland Guitar, Chris Cunningham chapman stick, and Hearn Gadbois dumbek and hand drums.
The New York Times reviewed: "aided by Ms. Ray's images... Greenwich Meantime ... built like a fierce, electrified hybrid of Arab maqam improvisation and howling psychedelic rock - a firestorm in an age-old landscape."
