Ghetto Blaster:

Ghetto Blaster is a club/dj-team focused on promoting good times and music with substance. We are hosting a radio mix show, bi-monthly club night and residencies at various venues in Helsinki and bookings in different locations around Finland and abroad.



As dj’s we are determined to bring party vibes everywhere we go with originality and aim to please and educate at the same time. We play everything that’s funky enough with soul and substance. Imagine what you could hear from a ghettoblaster posted on a random street corner, Hiphop, Reggae, Disco, Funk and Soul are the main things, but in the year 2007 you are bound to hear some electronic beats with the latest Justin Timberlake hit thrown in the mix.



Visual aspects have always been an important part of our club night, in form of printed media, posters, t-shirts and vj-visuals.

On Air:

Ghetto Blaster hosts a radio show on Basso Radio 102,8Mhz in Helsinki region. Aired every odd week on Monday 18:00-20:00 (GMT+2), the show is also available over the internet at http://www.basso.fi/bassostreami.m3u

Clubs:

Ghetto Blaster club nights provide our blend of music, depending on the live act or the guest dj’s, although selection is always based on hiphop and reggae. Our parties have always pulled crowd at every location. Ghetto Blaster was selected one of the top 3 clubs in Finland 2005 by the readers of Basso Magazine and website and listeners of Basso Radio. Ghetto Blaster Sound:

One of the best known soundsystems in Finland. Ghetto Blaster Sound have been performing all over Finland and in Sweden, Denmark and Latvia. The selectors Svengali and Ropeman flame the audience with the hottest tunes ranging from foundation reggae through 90's dancehall to the wickedest clubbangers. Ghetto Blaster Sound always perform strictly with the top finnish singjays, such as Nopsajalka, Paarma and Raappana.



History:

Ghetto Blaster has been active since 2002. We started as a club in now torn down venue called Alahuone at VR-makasiinit in Helsinki. The nights were based on a concept of bringing hottest underground live acts to a party with the most happening dj’s in town. As years went by we have changed locations a couple of times, first to Rose Garden and to present venue, Kuudes Linja in Kallio, Helsinki.
