DESCRIPTION:
Paradoxonia,is an anomaly.

Four instrumentalists,coming from different musical backgrounds,sharing the common need,to create a contemporary,unified sound.

Traditional folk scales and rhythms from the Balkans,along with jagged jazz harmonies,jam-rock attitude,and big funky beats,all find a way to co-exist in their original compositions.

Long before these four individuals meet,Paradoxonia lived a healthy life in their minds,but never really managed to take shape into reality....and suddenly..it did! After a magical jam session,that took place on an early spring afternoon of 2008,it was obvious to all four of them,that the Muse tapped them on the shoulder.The result was,to say the least, incredibly interesting-sonically speaking.The chemistry that emerged among them and the challenges,along with the possibilities,were too difficult to ignore.

The pagan sounding bagpipes (Gaida), and Kaval,combined with the ethereal textures of the vibraphone,supported by organic,earthy bass and drums grooves,create a strong vessel. And even though,Paradoxonia still live in a a city drowning in cement,surrounded by a world filled with problems-a paradox world-their explorations in that vessel takes these wandering few, on a journey to unknown and beautiful places.

These "strangelets" are not here to turn matter(music,that is)into strange matter.Their goal is to achieve the opposite.Rest assured,it is hard work blending all those elements together,to create something coherent..and it is true,sometimes these "partners in crime" may succeed,sometimes they may fail.But,having in mind that we all live in a relative world,success and failure are both relative as well. In reality, what is unquestionably evident to them,and hopefully to you too,is the sheer joy of them playing together.

Paradoxonia,is not that much of an anomaly...not really..
It is just four musicians bravely moving forward.It is a band playing naturally.
