DESCRIPTION:
Shotgun Boogie is an original documentary series about an outsider’s exploration into the social, cultural and musical landscape of contemporary New Orleans.

At the helm of the documentary is Michele Boreggi, a sound engineer from Italy living in New Orleans on a six month travel visa. Enlisting the help of filmmaker friends, also newcomers to the city, Michele meets with local musicians in their homes for intimate acoustic performances and frank discussions about New Orleans and how the city has changed over the past decade.

Years in the making, Shotgun Boogie is a big experiment. An unparalleled city like New Orleans calls for an unparalleled documentary approach. The 12-episode series perpetually unfolds as the cameras roll with behind-the-scenes footage interwoven with songs and interviews.

"Welcome to NOLA", episode one of Shotgun Boogie, offers a glimpse the lore and the lure of New Orleans. What do native New Orleanians treasure most about their hometown? What were newcomers' first impressions of the city? How do you make a documentary series about such a colorful and complicated city?
