DESCRIPTION:
A basic short clip showing my approach to creating a track for Gemma-Dawn Shaw called 'Love Found Me'.
'Counterpoint' parts are usually written whilst listening to the main chords of a song, the prime reason being that these instrumental parts are musically related to the main chord structure.
I challenged myself on this song by writing two simple musical counterpoint string parts without any idea of the main chords! and then finding main chords that would fit afterwards; a kind of back to front process.
The singer songwriter Gemma-Dawn Shaw (feat Dave Ellis) then worked alongside me to develop these experimental starting points into a complete song.
If you listen closely you can hear the two basic string parts in the chorus that were the starting points for the song.
Hope you enjoy.
