SICKDOLL (Germany) was formed as a solo project by Marcel Schneidenbach in 2004 (beside/after other projects)

One of his friends tried to annoy him by whistling Tschaikowskys "the sick doll" all day long - so he decided to alienate the name of this sinfonia to his project to make him stop.

In 2004 he sold his epic handpainted coffee filter demo-CDs.

He released the first 80's Minimal Wave sounding songs in 2005 on vinyl and CD.

Later on, the sound became more atmospherical and expressionistic in soundconstruction/lyrics and the whole pack became more well-defined.

During experiments between Synth Wave, NDW, Synth Punk, New Wave, no-noise noise, Oldschool EBM n other fancy stuff and some more releases he decided to arrange a guitarist (Alexandra) to have new possibilities. The name of the project changed into SICKDOLL & The Nuclear Shades.

After some concerts and releases Alexandra decided to live in Scottland and left the building.
In 2010 Ilija joined the game and he's the only person in universe who plays on a muldered guitar right now.

Marcel Schneidenbach still likes to use oldschool synthesizers, combined with the options of modern technology and machines used for purposes other than intended.
