As from the age of 14, Gaston Laterza has been feeling deeply attracted to electronic bands such as Depeche Mode, New Order, Duran Duran, Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, etc. It was at this age when he started to play at local pubs having in this way his first contact with the public. In 1995, he gets his first show at a club playing Tony Humphries, Frankie Knuckles, Graeme Park and Danny Tenaglia's kind of music. Since then, Gastón has played at several known clubs of Buenos Aires underground such as, Vai-Ven, Enigma, Back Stage, etc till he gets his residence in Umanno, one of the most elitist places at that age, where he plays classic house, deep house and retro disco. A year later in 1996, Gastón meets the person who is going to influence him the most and from whom he learned the craft and how to manage the dance pit, we are talking about Hernan Cattaneo, with whom he keeps a close relationship.
It is in that year that he decides to be a DJ for the rest of his life, he starts doing it more and more profesionally and continues working at Umanno for some years till he changes to Follia, where he plays at the VIP his characteristic style. At the same time, Gastón starts to play on international radio shows such as “Studio Phonic's”, where he is a guest to the show “Terra Firma”, “Frisky Radio” for "Cloud 9 Mix Sessions" ; “Quimika Sessions” and “De Ushuaia a la Quiaca”, where Gastón is convoked to make the most important show, “Artist Of The Week”. Gastón keeps the record for the longest set, 6 hours 30 minutes, getting an impressive acceptance by the audience and almost breaking that show audience record. He is also convoked by an international radio “Proton-Radio” to carry out one of the main shows, the best Djs in the world have been playing on it, the “Featured Artist” where Gaston shows a 3 hour dj set (download currently available On Demand)
Besides this, Gastón produces his own tracks, signing a contract with the American record company “Fiberline”. Time after, he is convoked by Terry Grant, to make a remix of one of his songs, “Beautiful Dirty”. When Terry Grant listens to the remix, he immediately decides to edit the track. Gaston dedicates most of his time to his own productions, and is signing contracts with different record companies across the globe such us Italy, Spain, Holland, Mexico, The United States, among others.
Today, in Argentina Gaston played in different clubs, and also has its own monthly residency at one of the most important clubs, Bigon, where people do listen to many of his own tracks where he shares the cab with many international artists such as at last birthday, I play with Guy Gerber.
