DESCRIPTION:
"This is the Gamelan Son of Lion streaming live on September 11, 2011, the 10th anniversary of the 911 attack on the World Trade Towers and on America. We are performing from our rehearsal loft on Spring Street in downtown Manhattan. The Gamelan Son of Lion performed at the World Trade Center plaza in July 2001, just a month and a half before it all went down.

Instigated by our director Barbara Benary, the group collectively wrote a piece, "911: A Memorial Suite" composed of individual members impressions, emotions, inspirations, dramatizations, or lingering effects of the event. The suite is recorded on our double CD SONOGRAM which is available from INNOVA records. An interview with each composer precedes their segment, explaining the methodology of their varied approaches."
