When G4 first appeared on our television screens on the first of the The X Factor back in 2004, they were instantly different. All of them had spent years training as classical musicians and had graduated from one of Britain's finest musical academies, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

With genius renditions of the Britney Spears and Queen classics, 'Hit Me Baby One More Time' and 'Bohemian Rhapsody', plus a spectacular performance of 'Nessun Dorma', G4 won over the viwers, boosted the ratings and prooved that there is a mass deman for diversity and talent in modern music. And, even though they only came second in the competiton, G4 have prooved to be more sucessful than the artist who came first.

Their rise to success did not stop once The X Factor ended. Mentor and Judge from the show, pop svengali, Louis Walsh, quickly signed them up and their debut album, released in February 2005 went straight in at Number One, selling 245,000 copies in it's first week and going double platinum in under a month. Following the release of their debut album, G4 then embarked on their first UK tour, performing to sell out crowds all over England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales, including the prestigious London's Royal Albert Hall. This concert at the Royal Albert Hall was filmed and released on DVD in November of 2005. Robin Gibb and Lesley Garrat also performed with G4 on the night as a special surprise to the fans.

2005 also saw G4 perform to 40,000 people in London's Hyde Park at the famous Last Night of the Proms along great artists such as Andrea Bocelli, Nicola Benedetti and Simply Red. This event is known as a huge highlight in their careers for G4, their friends and family and of course the ever so loyal fans.

G4 ended 2005 on the same high they started it on by releasing their second album at the end of November, G4 & Friends, which features duets with the well known artists, Robin Gibb (who duets with G4 on, 'First of May'), Lesley Garrat (Barcelona), and Sir Cliff Richard (Miss You Nights).

With the sales of both albums combined, in 2005, G4 sold over 1,000,000 albums.

In May 2006, G4 embarked on their second sell out UK tour, again playing to excited crowds all over England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. They also returned to The Royal Albert Hall where they are no longer, strangers.

So with two double platinum albums under their belts, along with two sell out UK tours, and many more claims to success what else can we expect from G4 in 2006? A third album of course. The next album is rumoured to be in recording this summer and due for release around the Christmas period.
