Mike has been singing as long as he can remember. In fact, he started singing at

the age of 8 when he was a chorister for five years, during which time he appeared

in the movie Four Weddings and

a Funeral and sang on various soundtracks including

The Browning Version and The Ref.

He won the solo singing category at the Beckenham Festival in 1997 and the Surrey Young Male Singer competition in 2001.

Mike studied music for four years at the Guildhall School

of Music and Drama, where he gained a scholarship and a bachelor of music

honours degree. In 2004 at the same time as graduating Mike auditioned as a quarter

of the vocal group G4 on the first ever series of the hit TV show The X Factor and this was to change his life

forever. Four friends studying together ended up reaching the final of the live

shows from 50,000 applicants.

G4 subsequently released three albums, which sold 1.5 million

in the UK. Their debut album sold over 245,000 in its first week alone and was the

fastest selling album of the year in the UK. They

also released a Live at The Royal

Albert Hall DVD, an autobiographical book G4: Our Way and completed

five sell-out tours across the UK and Ireland, including a Cathedral

Tour where they sang acoustically. Other G4 highlights included collaborating with

Lesley Garrett, Robin Gibb,

Stephen Gately and Sir Cliff

Richard, performing in the The Royal Albert Hall

more than a dozen times, and having the rollercoaster ride G-Force named after them, which they opened

at Drayton Manor Theme Park. After three fantastic years together as a group, they

decided to disband to enable them to have more time to pursue their own individual

dreams.

Over the past five years Mike has made nearly one hundred TV appearances including Through The Keyhole, Blue

Peter, This Morning - twelve times, The South Bank Show and Friday Night with Jonathan

Ross. Recently Mike raised over £9,000

for charity by running the London Marathon

and the Great South Run for Bowel Cancer UK, a charity

close to his heart.

Currently Mike is singing, teaching, composing and performing. His debut solo single Why Not Today can now be bought from this website. As well as the pop songs he writes, Mike is writing an opera with a self-penned story and libretto inspired by a discovery he made in his family tree. He has already embarked on two solo tours this year, and will end the year with his 6-date Christmas Tour in December at which time he will also release his debut solo album.
