Funkscribe is a man with one mission- funkify the entire world. Armed with a talkbox, an arsenal of analog synthesizers, and an MPC2000XL- he creates the evolution of the funk AKA New Old School. His first official studio album, "Synthesized Soul"is a testament to the idea that funk will never die! It's an uptempo explosion of nasty horn lines, boomin moog bass, low down dirty vocal harmonies, bangin' beats, vintage keyboards (clavinet, moog, arp, rhodes,etc.), and virtuoso talkbox mayhem.
"Synthesized Soul" features the power of Parliament-Funkadelic's mothership- Garry "Starrchild aka "Diaperman" Shider (guitarist/vocalist for P-Funk & Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame member), Lige Curry (P-Funk bass player), and Michael "Kidd Funkadelic" Hampton (P-Funk guitar player, maggot brain master, & Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame member).
After playing a west coast tour with the 420 Funk Mob w/ Dr. Funkenstein George Clinton, the powers of the "P" were officially handed down to the Funkscribe. Theres nothing like the blessing of George Clinton to increase your interplanetary funksmanship! Rounding out this funk mob is an array of the funkiest musicians on the west coast to create FUNKSCRIBE'S Family Affair.
For over 3 years, his stanky Moog synthesizer and Clavinet playing has helped propel his legendary funk group ALTERED STATES OF FUNK into funky cult status in the NW. He has honed his funky stylings as keyboardist, composer, and arranger for Altered States. You can also hear Funkscribe with his 1990's "golden era G-Funk" Instrumental hiphop group-HAMBURGER PIMP. Funkscribe has also played with funk heavyweights such as Marmalade, Roy Ayers, Orgone, Nomo, Stingshark, and Delta Nove.
Funkscribe also has a radio show in Seattle on 91.3 KBCS every Friday night PST from 7-9pm with his partner in funk- Uncle Megabhuti!!!! As he is an avid collector of dusty funk 45's, you might hear some new, nasty funk! Tune into KBCS.FM to stream it worldwide.
