DESCRIPTION:
This is a song that Soulymanne wrote and later arranged for our group in 1998 for a world music CD recording production. Unfortunately, it was never released by the producers in Luxembourg. This song is titled Rauoa and and inspired from the area of Cote d'Ivoire where Soulymanne grew up. Some of the musicians that were involved with this project along with Soulymanne who was singing and playing talking drums and Djimbe are Fuasi Abdul-Khaliq on ten sax/voc, Perlito Tabora on piano/voc, Stanislaw Michalak on bass/voc, Nirankar Khalsa on drums/voc. There were two additional musicians on the recording which I cannot recall their names at the time of this publication (Please forgive me). Soulymanne just made his transition and this is just a small tribute to celebrate his music. More later...We will miss this great Griot of the Talking Drum. A master musician and percussionist that was an inspiration to us all here in Berlin and beyond...both young and old. RIP Papa Touré. Praises upon Soulymanne...Peace and Blessings.
