High-Flying Modern Classic

To ensure that it sounds as great as it looks, the Nighthawk Custom Reissue is crafted from the ground up with quality tonewoods. The body is made from solid unchambered mahogany, a classic ingredient in countless legendary guitars that has proved itself since the advent of solidbody electrics in the 1950s. The body is married to a glued-in mahogany neck with a D-shaped SlimTaper™ profile that marries speed with comfort, and carries a luscious dark rosewood fingerboard, long considered an upgrade on deluxe Epiphone and Gibson models.

In one of the twists that has helped to make the Nighthawk range unique since its introduction in 1993, however, this neck is scaled to the longer 25 1/2" for added high-end jangle and ultra-tight lows, just part of the package that makes the Nighthawk perfect not only for rock and blues, but for pop, country and everything else besides.

Taking all this tone electric is a trio of specialized pickups that provide unparalleled versatility between them. A slanted NHT humbucker in the bridge position provides thick, creamy, crunchy tones, while being splittable for singl-coil twang; an NSX single-coil pickup in the middle combines for funky "out-of-phase" tones or provides snappy sounds on its own; and an NHR mini-humbucker in the neck position serves up smooth, vocal warmth with impressive clarity.

Routed through a five-way switch and a push-pull Tone control, this pickup set provides an astounding 9 unique tones from this chameleon-like guitar, allowing the Nighthawk Custom Reissue to tap any tone under the sun. And it does it all with supreme resonance and sustain thanks to its through-body stringing, with strings' ball-ends anchored in individual ferrules in the back of the guitar's body. A versatile Nighthawk bridge provides six individual saddles, all independently adjustable for height and length, allowing perfect adjustment of both action and intonation so your guitar plays and feels as great as it looks and sounds. Quality Grover tuners with kidney buttons keep tuning tight, and look great alongside the elegance of the guitar's Grade-AAA flamed maple veneer top and genuine mother-of-pearl "crown" fingerboard inlays, all complemented by your choice of four great translucent finishes.

Each Nighthawk Custom Reissue includes a full owner's manual and adjustment literature, a 10' cord, truss-rod wrench, and an Epiphone poster and bumper sticker. All are covered by Epiphone's Limited Lifetime Warranty and 24/7/365 Customer Support.

Body and Finish
A body made from solid mahogany with a highly figured Grade-AAA flamed maple top veneer and a deep single cutaway with pointed "Florentine" horn distinguish the sleek Nighthawk Custom Reissue. The guitar is available in your choice of four stunning translucent finishes: Fireburst, Honeyburst, Trans Amber or Trans Black.

Neck, Fingerboard and Headstock
The Nighthawk Custom Reissue has a glued-in neck made from solid mahogany and topped with a bound rosewood fingerboard, elegantly adorned with mother-of-pearl "crown" inlays. Made to the longer 25-1/2" scale length, it has a back-angled headstock and a synthetic bone nut for superior resonance, and its D-shaped SlimTaper™ profile is extremely comfortable in the hand.

Pickups and Electronics
The Nighthawk Custom Reissue has a three-pickup set that includes a bridge humbucker, a single-coil in the middle, and a mini-humbucker in the neck for a mind-boggling array of nine different tones through a five-way switch and push-pull coil tap on its master Tone control, with a master Volume control positioned for easy in-flight volume swells.

Hardware
The guitar carries a unique Nighthawk bridge designed to maximize resonance and sustain. It has individual saddles for entirely independent height and intonation adjustment, and is partnered with through-body stringing with ferrules set into the back of the guitar. Other details include Grover tuners, metal pickup rings on the bridge and neck positions, and die-cast steel strap buttons. .
