« On ne décourage jamais assez les jeunes talents », disait un certain Claude Debussy. Fort heureusement, tous les jurés du ReZZo FOCAL Jazz à Vienne ont compris à quel point l’on reconnaît la force des jeunes pousses au fait qu’elles ne sont pas « décourageables ». C’est le cas des musiciens d’UPTAKE, heureux lauréats 2014 du plus célèbre tremplin jazz de France. Débordant de groove et d’énergie, ce quartet issu de la scène lyonnaise est déjà passé maître dans l’art de l’interplay - cette manière complice de faire circuler et de conjuguer ensemble la musique en toute liberté…


“Young talents can never be discouraged enough,” claimed one Claude Debussy. Fortunately, the members of the ReZZo FOCAL Jazz in Vienna juries are aware that the strength of fledging artists is that they are not, in fact, ‘discourageable’. This applies in any case to the musicians who form UPTAKE, the lucky 2014 winners of the most famous jazz talent contest in France. Overflowing with groove and energy, this quartet which stems from the music scene in Lyons has already mastered the art of interplay – a synergetic way of spreading and shaping music together in total freedom…
