I was 12 years old and I had just got my second guitar from my parents. Mattias, who lived down the street, bought my first guitar and we were sitting in his room trying to learn the song "Nothing else matters" by Metallica... our favorite group. I remember it like it was yesterday. Me and Mattias discovered a lot of music together and we were eager to learn all there was to know about playing guitar.

Time went by,we grew up and didn't see each other that much anymore. But we always kept in touch in one way or another. In august 2013 I recieved the horrible news that he had passed away in cancer, leaving his wife, son, family and friends behind.

I decided to record a cover of the song "Nothing else matters" in his memory. The first line: "So close, no matter how far" shows that even if he has left this world, he will always be close by... in the memories of those who knew him.

Thank you to Isabel José who put her soul in singing the vocals for this cover, making it something special.
We should always remember that we are only guests in this world for an uncertain period of time. Cherish every moment with the people you love, and thank you for reading.
