FRANCESCO TRISTANO (ES, Infiné / Deutsche Grammophon) live

Nato nel 1981 in Lussemburgo, Francesco Tristano Schlimé "convive" con la musica da sempre. Ha frequentato i conservatori di Lussemburgo, Brussel, Riga e Parigi, prima di entrare alla Julliard School presso cui si è diplomato con il titolo di Bachelor and Master of Music. La sua profonda e matura cultura musicale gli permette di combinare con insolita semplicità il suo amore per la musica classica, il jazz, la musica contemporanea, l'improvvisazione e la composizione.
Come solista ha debuttato nel 2000 negli Stati Uniti con Mikhail Pletnew e la Russian National Orchestra, ma la ricerca e la voglia di sperimentare lo hanno condotto fino ai ritmi delle techno, che magicamente riesce a trasportare al piano. Nel 2007 è uscito "Not For Piano", prodotto da Murcof, l'album in cui rivisita alcuni dei più grandi successi della musica techno e house in chiave pianistica, mentre nel 2008 viene pubblicato "Auricle Bio On", masterizzato da Moritz Von Oswald, seguito dall'LP di Aufgang, trio composto da Francesco, Rami Khalifé e Aymeric Westrich.
Nel 2010 Tristano ritorna con un nuovo album, "Idiosynkrasia", vero e proprio manifesto artistico del pianista: "Quest'album è la sintesi della mia ricerca sull'idiosincrasia tra musica acustica ed elettronica, una ricerca che viaggia nel tempo e nello spazio. Voglio portare il piano nel ventunesimo secolo. La mia ambizione è dare al piano una nuova identità, perché spesso è associato alla musica classica e visto come uno strumento del passato, mentre io sinceramente lo vedo come uno strumento del futuro".

Born in 1981 in Luxembourg, Francesco Tristano Schlimé has been "living" with music right from the beginning. Attending the conservatory of Luxembourg, Bruxelles, Riga and Paris, he then moves to New York and attends the Julliard School where he earns his degree in Bachelor and Master of Music. His deep and mature musical culture allows him to effortlessly combine his love for classical music, jazz and contemporary with improvisation and composition.
As a soloist his debut was signed in 2000 with Mikhail Pletnew and the Russian National Orchestra but his avenue to explore and study bring him to the rhythms of techno, which he magically translates to the piano; In 2007 "Not For Piano" is released, produced by Murcof, an album in which he revisits some of the great techno and house hits to piano. In 2008 "Auricle Bio On" follows, mastered by Moritz Von Oswald, and then the LP for Aufgand, a trio formed by Francesco, Rami Khalifé and Aymeric Westrich.
In 2010 Tristano returns with a new album "Idiosynkrasia", almost an artistic manifesto: " This record is the fruit of a quest for an idiosyncratic language that is somewhere between acoustic and electronic, a quest that spans time and space, and I want to bring the piano into the 21st century. My ambition is to provide the piano with a new identity, because it is often associated with classical music and viewed as an instrument of the past, while I genuinely see it as an instrument of the future."
