DESCRIPTION:
FP Barrio Nuevo plays traditional and popular music from Colombia's Pacific coast. Although most of their songs are quite uptempo, "Pario la luna" is a song in the languorous aguabajo-rhythm. Leader of the band is Francisco Pena, who now lives in Amsterdam. In his band are many of the new latin stars on the Dutch music scene, like Marco Toro (drums), Rudy Albano (saxes), Federico Olivares (guitar) and Macarena Pizarro (vocals). Their cd was presented at a world music festival in The Netherlands on the 22th of september 2011. Organised by Fundación Interchange. The cd was released by Merusa Records (CD 9272).
