Morph began as an idea in the head of Australian musician Andrew Weir. The concept was to bring together musicians from Korea and Japan with backgrounds in various sub genres of electronic music. Now it has become a reality thanks to the support and investment of famous Hong Dae live venue, Freebird. Morph will be held at Freebird2 for 2 nights on the 15th and 16th of August 2014 featuring live and DJ performances of 22 musicians from South Korea, Japan and Australia.


The festival will feature some of the world's best electronic artists. Including 2 of minimal electronica label 12K's best artists Moskitoo and Keiichi Sugimoto (Vegpher), who is also known under his other aliases Fourcolor and Filfla. Well known as one of the world's leading rhythmic glitch musician, AOKI Takamasa, will also take the stage. Ametsub, who has recently played at many of Europe's biggest festivals, will represent the rising next generation of Japanese electronic artists with his incomparable live show. Joining the line up are many great Korean musicians such as Tacit Group, who are known internationally for their highly developed technology based audio visual performances , well known film scoring composer and veteran of 80's and 90's bands such as Sinawe and Pi-Pi Band, Dalpalan and Haihm who along with releasing her second solo electronic album this year is also a well known K-pop song composer and arranger for Yoon Sang, BoA and IU. Add to this the likes of hip-hop and down tempo based Japanese electronic artists Tristero and Production duo Fragment who have played with artists such as Flying Lotus and Skrillex at Fuji Rock Festival. Damirat, the founders of Seoul's best live electronic gig series WATMM, and other great electronic live musicians such as Gisulbu, Odaeri and Yukari will also be performing.

Morph(모프)는 기존 EDM 씬에서는 접하기 어려웠던 일렉트로닉 음악의 다양한 서브장르를 깊이있게 보여주자는 취지로 호주 음악가 Andrew Weir가 기획을 시작하여 홍대 라이브 베뉴인 프리버드의 지원과 투자로 열리게 되었습니다. 모프는 2014년 8월 15/16일 양일간 홍대클럽 프리버드2 에서 한국과 일본 22개팀 최정상 전자음악 뮤지션의 라이브 공연으로 진행됩니다.

전세계 미니멀 일렉트로니카 음악의 최고 레이블인 12K를 대표하는 Moskitoo(모스키투)와 Fourcolor, Filfla 등의 이름으로 활동하는 Keiichi Sugimoto (스키모토 케이치), 또한 미니멀 글리치 음악으로 전세계적으로 유명한 AOKI Takamasa (아오키타카마사), 유럽의 유명 페스티벌 라인업에 꾸준히 이름을 올리고있는 차세대 전자음악 뮤지션 Ametsub 아멧서브 등이 메인 라인업으로 참여합니다. 뿐만 뿐만 아니라 국내외에서 디지털 테크놀러지를 활용한 공연으로 혁신을 보여주고 있는 Tacit Group(태싯그룹)과, 80, 90년대 이후로 다양한 음악가로 활동해왔고 현재는 영화음악 감독으로도 유명한 달파란 (Dalpalan), 그리고 윤상 과 브라운아이드걸스, 아이유 등 과의 작.편곡가로도 잘 알려져있고 최근 본인의 전자음악을 발매한 Haihm (하임) 등이 라인업으로 참여 할 예정입니다.그외에도 일본 후지락 페스티벌에서 Flying Lotus 플라잉로터스, Skrillex 스크릴렉스 등과 공연하였고 힙합 과 일렉트로닉을 결합한 전자음악을 보여주는 Fragment (프래그먼트), Tristero (트리스테로) 와 한국 전자음악 라이브 공연인 WATMM (와트엠)을 이끌며 꾸준한 활동을 보여주고있는 Damirat (다미라트) 와 기술부 (Gisulbu), 오대리 (ODAERI), 유카리(Yukari)등도 한국 라인업으로 참여 할 예정입니다.

2014년 처음으로 서울에서 열리게 되는 국제전자음악 일렉트로니카 페스티벌 모프라이브를 통해 한국 전자음악씬의 다양성의 성장과 변화를 기대합니다. 올 여름 8월15, 16일 양일간 열리는 모프라이브에 많은 관심과 참여를 부탁드리겠습니다.
