Andrei Tarkovskii's films all seem to me to be about death and how its presence somehow plays out through life. He also explores a wide range of emotions in his films, from honest joy and compassion to unbearable pain and loneliness. He also presents some of the most beautiful, dream-like scenes I've ever seen that somehow get at some deep truth.

I wrote this song about my own feeling and experiences, but with Tarkovsky in mind:) I also see the present moment as often the result of forces that came before, or that are somehow unknown to us until the future, while intuition and art can help us to understand these forces.
