Some early experiments for a new games project. I'm fairly certain I've stumbled upon the same general technique that Harebrained Schemes used for the Shadowrun Returns engine, which I'm pretty pleased about!

I won't do a tutorial, 'cause... you know, trade secrets (and I have no time) - but the technique was inspired by a discussion I stumbled upon here: http://www.gamedev.net/topic/530346-efficient-fog-of-war/

Combine those ideas with Unity Pro's ability to render secondary cameras to textures, throw in a few tricks with lighting layers and custom shaders, and you might start to see how I got this working...
