Flo Anito Trio "No Dustbunnies" NPR Tiny Desk Concert Contest Entry! - Video

DESCRIPTION:
Hey Guys! NPR's All Songs Considered announced that they were having a contest to perform as part of the Tiny Desk Concert Series so we thought we'd enter a song! I called Robin and Nelly to see if they'd shoot some video and as soon as they said they were game, Jeff, Lou, and I decided to go for it.

The rules were pretty simple. The only stipulation was that we needed to perform an original song at a desk. We ended up finding a desk in one of the common rooms of my apartment building so we decided to use that and shoot down there. It went pretty smoothly with only a couple of residents sticking their heads in to see what was going on. We thought we might recruit one of them to dust in the background but in the end, Lou's performance surpassed all of our expectations :)

In fact Lou contributed quite a lot to the video. Above and beyond his dusting skills, a collector of instruments (grown up and child/toy alike) he brought over the keyboard, piano flute, harmonica, honeytone amp, and maracas shaped like balloons! Jeff brought a drum he could carry with one hand for a change of pace and a happier back :) I set up a Fisher Price lady at a tiny desk on top of our bigger desk. The doll and the tiny furniture happened to live in a doll house in the common area so it felt like fate, as did the books we found in the shelves. For the record, we did not bring any of the books down but they seemed to fit the lyrics (and the band name) so perfectly, we couldn't help but set them up for a laugh. Keep your eyes peeled and your ears listening and you too, can enjoy our joke. If you like what you see and hear, please share this video with your friends and subscribe to my youtube channel.
