Marco And Simon Meet At Secondary School(1986) Sharing The Same Interest's In Electro,Hip-Hop,Breakdancing And Graffiti. From Then Both Decided To Take Up D.Jing playing Hip-Hop,70's breaks,Rare groove,Soul,Funk & Disco,Perfecting our skills on the wheels of steel. Then the Acid House scene started and things progressed into a different direction. We started going to parties at the Centre(Farnham Road)Slough(YIKES)put on by Marvin Connors. We were amazed by the sound of the bone shaking bass coming out of the renegades P.A sound system,And the sights of the multi colored lazer systems and was instantly hooked!Hearing DJ's like Evil Eddie Richards,Jumping Jack Frost,Paul Trouble Anderson,Colin Favor,Carl Cox,Colin Dale,Face & Rocky & Diesel to name but a few,Also seeing P.A's by N.Joi & Nightmares On Wax.Straight away we started to hunt down the records we were listening to at the parties we were attending up and down the country every weekend. The Acid House scene started to change into the Rave scene where even larger outdoor events in big top tents were being put on.The music being played was also morphing into Hardcore Breakbeat & Jungle Tekno,At this point we started producing music at TMP studios(near High Wycombe). After endless sessions watching the engineer turning dials and sequencing on the computer. We decided it was time to buy some Akai samplers and a Atari 1040st for sequencing and get busy.We bumped into an old friend from the Hip-Hop days who was producing under the name DJ Dopeski with a guy called Jakes,They had a release on Wardance records called the Snowstorm E.P which was getting allot of attention being played up and down the country.Marco hounded a local promoter(Keith) putting on events under the name Menace and got a set opening up for DJ Sy.The hardcore scene was changing into the Jungle scene as the Reggae influence started to blend in.We started perfecting our sound in the studio also collaborating with other friends who were also producing.Simon got a job at Vinyl Distribution in Reading,Quickly getting Marco a job there aswell. After negotiating a distribution deal,Chemical Warfare Records started with its first release by Simon & DJ Dopeski under the name Chemical Agents.DJ Pascal(Frontline Records & Tru Playaz) had heard a couple of tracks and a few release's followed on Frontline Records,One of these tracks Keep Fit getting on a compilation by AK1200 named Lock And Roll.Marco under the name DJ Hatcher released Data Capture and Cyclops on Chemical Warfare Records. We then put on events called Hooked at local venue's in the area playing numerous tracks that we had produced in the studio. At this point we started experimenting with other projects,Marco working with a guy called M.C. Mud on some Hip-Hop tracks,And Simon working as the DJ for a band called Sub Drive.
Marco made a house track called Till-Da-A.M and played it to a local DJ Sam Cherry who was into it and said she would play it at Pacha at the weekend from this FILTA FREQZ was born.We have both gone back full circle 360 degrees to the music that was so infectious in the first place,Let there be House.
