I don't really consider myself a slide player. I just use the slide as an accent tool. I rely more on my fingers to do the work. My influences for guitar are Lightnin Hopkins for his effortless shuffle and guitar licks, John Lee Hooker for his free style approach, Albert King for his heavy note bending, Sister Rosetta Tharpe for that sanctified flavor, Jimmy Reed for his easy down home grooves, and of course Jimi Hendrix and Hound Dog Taylor for pure raw intensity. That what I put in my fattback stew.
