Al Blake was a founding member of the legendary HOLLYWOOD FATS BAND. Their first album released in 1979 was the blueprint for modern era West Coast Blues and is widely considered around the world to be a landmark album of the genre.
Few Blues artists today can go back and faithfully preserve the sources of the music while adding brilliant splashes of modern themes. Blake is a rare bird in that category and he does it with complete authority! He is one of the best "straight ahead" blues harmonica players performing today, as well as a beautifully soulful vocalist, country blues guitar player and gifted songwriter.
