DESCRIPTION:
A traditional carol from mid-17th century Germany. One of the pieces sung recently when Quire together with readers from St Teresa's Roman Catholic Church, Lexden, Colchester, presented "Advent Calendar" - a programme of songs and readings composed by Professor Bill Tamblyn, based on the book by Jostein Gaarder, (with permission from the publisher). An enchanting tale of a Norwegian girl, Elisabet Hansen, who with others, travels in the company of angels, backwards in time and across continents, to reach the stable of the Infant Christ.

Quire is a community choir based in Colchester, Essex, England, led and directed by Professor Bill Tamblyn. It sings music in many different languages from across the world - Maori, Chinese, Zulu, Ndebele, Russian, Xhosa, Yoruba, French, Italian, Dutch, to name a few.
