Far Out Recordings

Far Out Recordings is an independent record label based in London that specializes in releasing quality Brazilian music from both new and established Brazilian artists such as Joyce, Marcos Valle, Azymuth, Arthur Verocai, the Ipanemas, Sabrina Malheiros, Binario and Zeep. In 2009 Far Out Recordings celebrated 15 years as the original and best UK based Brazilian record label. With this years' releases stronger than ever, Far Out Founder, Joe Davis will have released close to 150 albums on CD, Vinyl and digital. Far Out also releases music from European and US musicians and producers who share the label’s appreciation of the Brazilian vibes such as Gilles Peterson (BBC Radio 1), Andy Votel (Finders Keepers), Nicola Conte (Blue Note), Zeep, Troubleman (Mark Pritchard) and Marc Mac (4hero)



Formed in 1994 by London born record producer & Brazilian aficionado Joe Davis, Far Out has released new recordings from Brazilian superstars Marcos Valle, Joyce, Azymuth and Wilson Das Neves whilst at the same time discovering and nurturing the next wave of Brazilian artists such as Sabrina Malheiros and Binario .



Far Out has also reissued forgotten masterpieces from Milton Nascimento & Roberto Quartin and created successful compilations such as Brazilika’, which has previously been compiled by Kenny Dope, 4Hero and Andy Votel.



The name Far Out is almost a by word for quality new Brazilian music – you won’t find a Brazilian music compilation worth its salt without at least one track from the label on it and to date we have licensed tracks to over three hundred compilations while our music has been synched on numerous TV shows , films and adverts including CSI Miami, Nike and Clarks.

Joe Davis started out with a passion to feed the UK jazz scene with a taste of rare Brazilian Jazz. He went from hunting treasures in dusty old record stores across Brazil to running a successful record company, Far Out Recordings. Far Out Recordings has impressive world wide sales and a great international reputation, it is a label dedicated to all angles of Brazilian music from jazz, samba, bossa nova to rock and electronica.
