It started at the end of the 70's. Dutchman Skoulaman ( Hans van Kroonenburg ) was wondering how the music was made from Vangelis, TD, JMJ, Tomita, Kraftwerk, Mike Oldfield , and so on. He read (mostly at that time at the back of a LP-album) about Moog modular’s, String synthesizers, EMT-eventide reverb, Binson-Echorec, Space Dimensions, ARP, Oberheim , etc, etc. It was all abracadabra for him but he was very impressed. All the knobs, pots, gliders, flashing sequencers, it looked far away for him.
Skoulaman’s first keyboard was a Solina electronic organ. An evening study how to play followed. After a few months it really started. Skoula found a second hand Solina String Synthesizer, a truly amazing combination of an ARP-explorer and the famous Solina string.
A short time after that his first reverb unit, a Sansui, came to him  A straight forward spring reverb.
Well...and then...came the Ibanez UE 400 multi (guitar) effect with flanger and phaser and then...the Sequential Circuits Pro-one, a really monophonic synthesizer, and then.....
Now after more than 30 years a lot has changed. Now Skoulaman is capable of making CD's, to record digitally and show it to everyone out there on his website (and YouTube). Some of his equipment is sold or refurbished.
Skoulaman bought new gear (mostly second hand) and played together with two fellow Youtubers.
he played live in a gig with two other synthplayers at E-live in 2012, Oirschot NL (You can see a recording from this concert on his YT-channel).
His music was used for a video project and a photo-gallery.
His music is often broadcast.
