DESCRIPTION:
In this video, I examine philosopher Thomas Clifton's phenomenology of music. For Clifton, music is the way the body responds to sound. Everything that is fundamental to music is something that is a function of the self and subjective experience. Thus, anything that causes musical sensation is music itself. Music is not something that exists in the world separated from subjective experience.
