DESCRIPTION: Famous ragtime pianist Johnny Maddox and Dot Records executive Alvin S. Bennett (1926-1989), namesake of Alvin and the Chipmunks, discovered the wonderful Jane Grant singing at the Elks' Lodge in Nashville in the early-1950s. Her rendition of the 1930s standard "Goody, Goody" impressed them so much they had her record it for Dot Records in Nashville. It was even a big enough seller that the sheet music was published with Jane Grant's photograph on the cover. These are the only three recordings of her I have been able to find -- Johnny Maddox's exquisite piano playing can be heard in the background throughout. Does anyone know what happened to Jane Grant?
