>>> A FOXY STORY <<<

As any rock snob'll sneer, a lotta peeps hate funky vocal house because unless they're off chops, unless it's farqin' loud, unless it's summer and unless it's 2am, a vast proportion of it is just plain painful (try listening to most house compilations straight at home and you'll see what we mean). Sure, if you're just into solid production and you can ignore an assault of horrendous lyrics, then you'll be fine. But if you're looking for something that you might still get into down the track, if you're searching for some super fine disco, then you might have to dig that bit deeper.

See, the thing about Etherfox that always set them apart from the crowd is simply this: they make bloody good music and they write bloody good songs. They know cutting edge production alone never makes a classic tune, it only underpins it. And make no mistake: Etherfox are in the art of spinning classics. 'The Whirled you Live' (2003) is now recognised whirledwide as a latin house classic. 'Something Different to Say' (2007), signed by UK No 1's The Shapeshifters, reached the top 10 of the UK Club Charts, has become a disco house stayer. Not to mention their first real track together, [love] tattoo's 'The Bass Has Got Me Movin' (2000), as much loved now as it was then.

In a sea of forgettable dance music, they're bringing the glitz, sparkle, smile and story of disco back to the floor where it belongs and are resisting old rehashes and mashups in favour of vibrant originally composed and conceived music. True, Etherfox might not release piles of records. But when they do, they sort it out.

Disco kids from way back, in 2000 this duo comprising Antigone and Shave began their rise to fame by collaborating on the [love] tattoo project in home town Sydney. ARIA nominated hit single "The Bass has got me movin" put both future foxes in the limelight, whilst the massive tribal "Drop some Drums" was nothing short of a [love] bomb, landing squarely on Fat Boy Slims Live at Brighton Beach comp having been licensed by Positiva.

In 2003 they launched Etherfox with the mammoth crossover latin-house monster "The Whirled you Live" (Hussle Recordings/Ministry of Sound) which ended up struttin' its chops all over Ibiza then suitably fell into bed with comps like Hed Kandi's Beach House as well as being picked up by Blanco y Negro for Spain and Drizzly for GAS.

In more recent times, Etherfox have collaborated with crafty house lads the Bassmonkeys on a sublime chill house tune called 'Another Valentine'. Mark Doyle (Hed Kandi's founder) has picked it up exclusively for his label Fierce Angel and it is out now on various FA comps.

Continuing their decade long collaboration, Shave has now gone onto produce and co-write Antigone's incredible solo album 'AntigoneLand'. Think eclectic electronic pop not dissimilar to Roisin Murphy and Goldfrapp.
