Esquina 25 brings together top international musicians from Cuba, Venezuela, Germany, the USA and the Netherlands. They create an original take on Cuban music performed with plenty of room for creativity and improvisation, and with respect for tradition. A wide spectrum of Cuban musical styles - son, bolero, rumba, guajira, trova, Afro-Cuban jazz and Lucumí chants - appear at the musical crossroads called Esquina 25.

Leading the band is Estrella Acosta, a Cuban vocalist living in the Netherlands. Estrella has performed with her bands in major international festivals such as the North Sea Jazz Festival, Curaçao Jazz Festival, Chicago World Music Festival and Small World Music Festival in Toronto. She has released three CDs on her label eStar and recorded as a guest for different labels including Universal Records. She has also been a guest of the prestigious Metropole Orchestra. Her second production on eStar, Alma Guajira, was nominated for an Edison (Dutch Grammy).

On March 29, 2013, Esquina 25 released their eponymous cd at the Bimhuis, Amsterdam. Since then, the CD has been featured by radio stations all over the world to many accolades
