Music is a calling. As a classically trained pianist with a lifelong passion for piano/synth dominated music, singer/songwriter Eské answers the call of her muse with her first three-song demo of original material. Expertly produced by Gordon Grody and backed by a studio band of seasoned professional musicians, Eské’s songs of love and hope are like vital breaths of fresh air in a music world drowning in the vapid, tired and clichéd.



Eské, whose background is South Asian, was raised in the suburbs of Long Island, New York. She started playing piano at the age of eight, encouraged by her father. “I was classically trained in both the violin and piano. The Piano is the one instrument that really stood out to me.” Also inspired by the music of classic composers such as Mozart and Chopin, Eské studied with private teachers until the age of eighteen.



Another distinguishing feature of Eské as an artist is her rich vocals which are rich and sultry. “I have been compared stylistically to Suzanne Vega, but it is interesting that vocally a lot of people say they can’t think of anyone I sound like.”



On graduating from high school she attended NYU as a film major. After earning her degree, she was once again drawn to her calling. “I became friends with a lot of musicians, and they inspired me to get back into music,” she recalls.



As a further sign that Eské was on the right path, a friend on the musical theater circuit introduced her to vocal coach, Gordon Grody, also a producer and backing singer. The introduction to Grody proved to be pivotal. Upon agreeing to work with the young artist, Eské exclaimed, “ I gained so much confidence. He encouraged me to flesh out the songs I was working on and to keep writing.”



While Eské takes credit for the majority of the songwriting, she expresses deep gratitude to Grody with the arrangements. “Gordon took the simple melodies I composed on the piano that have an arc and real meaning. I love the way all the instruments are placed and how he made the songs come to life”.



Gordon has equally high praise for the singer. “Eské’s music emanates from her heart and soul,” says the producer. “Unlike many others, Eské is not trying to fit into any particular mold. The minute I heard her music and voice, I knew she was quite unique, at the same time, very accessible to a very wide listening public. I couldn’t wait to get her into the studio.”



Performing live is something Eské is actively pursuing. As a strong vocalist and multi-instrumentalist whose also a gifted songwriter and storyteller, Eské distinguishes herself from many pop singers working in the genre. Eské’s decisive artistic vision, with her talent and personal charisma, make success seem inevitable.
