Eric's Little Shack - The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Medley - Video
PUBLISHED:  Dec 26, 2012
DESCRIPTION:
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (Zelda LTTP, Zelda 3) was released in 1991 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The game was developed and published by Nintendo. Its soundtrack was composed by Koji Kondo, the same man who composed the soundtrack of the original The Legend of Zelda, released in 1986 on the original Nintendo Entertainment System.

Unlike the music playing in the game's background, which used synthesized instruments to produce the sound; this cover features Eric playing a selection of those songs on real instruments: electric guitar, acoustic drums, and electric bass.

The medley begins with a mellow, serious cover of the world theme--representing Link being overwhelmed with the world as he learns his way around the environment; followed by a more intense cover of the same theme--representing a determined Link having his mind set on achieving a single goal (saving Zelda), and battling and solving his way to achieving it. The medley ends with a 1950s style slow dance version of the town theme--representing a relieved Link and Zelda relaxing together after this adventure...at least until the next game begins.

This song was awarded 2nd place in the Dwelling of Duels competition for the month of July, 2004, for which the theme was "Legend of Zelda." The song was submitted under the title "Link's High School Prom Night," referring to the slow dance music it ends with. The 1st place winner of that competition was virt, with his medley entitled "Blood of Ganon."
