In the year of 2005 ERAZOR's founding members first got together with the intention of forming a band in their Lower Rhine hometown of Dinslaken, located close to the more famous Ruhr Area. Back then they considered themselves as being deeply rooted in the tradition of local Thrash Metal legends such as Darkness, Kreator and Sodom and thus primarily aimed at paying homage to their own heroes by reinforcing the pioneering spirit and power of those bands.
After a while the band successively introduced individual elements of Black Metal into its sound. Therefore ERAZOR's reorientation mainly arose from spontaneous processes within the band and ought not to be mistaken for an attempt to jump on the Black/ Thrash bandwagon starting to roll once again at the time.
During the 5 years since founding ERAZOR were able to establish and consolidate a good reputation, especially through many live shows. For instance, the band performed at well-attended concerts in support of Desaster, Scanner, Hellish Crossfire, Nocturnal, Deströyer 666, Witchburner, etc. as well as at the first Raging Death Date Festival
But at the beginning of 2009 ERAZOR suddenly seemed to be burdened with a curse: the number of band members decreased to three, partly owing to failed recordings. Accordingly, Fredi was the only remaining founding member and even though he committed himself to two performances with ASSASSIN, a long-established Thrash band from Düsseldorf, ERAZOR was not put on hold, in spite of the bitter losses
After intensive rehearsals and a live baptism of fire for the new line up, ERAZOR went into the Tortured Souls studio in November and December which is owned by none other than Mersus, drummer of DESTRÖYER 666/ ZARATHUSTRA.
The new record will spread intense darkness of (mid 90s swedish) Death/Black Metal and the agressive energy of Thrash Metal at the same time. Eventually, the eagerly anticipated self-titled album is supposed to pave the way for the future of the five ERAZORs in 2010
