On this episode of The John Campea Podcast (recorded Saturday August 5th 2017) John takes the following viewer emails:

1:39 Andres Gallego - While waiting in line for a test screening for a studio film, the folks running the screening asked a video editor to leave saying "nobody working in the industry can these attend screenings." My question is: Why do studios deem it necessary to leave creatives that work in the film industry out of the testing process, when they can possibly help better the film?

5:03 Linus Knight - Hi Jon, Love this show! I try to watch every day! What do you think about the Sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming actually being called "Spider-Man: The Secret Avenger"?

8:04 Pablo - Hey John, huge fan of the new show. The Iron Giant is one my favorite animated movies. The movie under-performed in 1999 due to poor marketing. Afterwards the film gathered a big following and is now widely regarded as a modern animated classic. So My question is, with all the success Disney has had with their live action movies do you think WB should try doing a live action iron giant movie? Thanks and again love the show!

10:20 Chad Joyce - Huge fan since the AMC days! Will Henry Cavill continue playing Superman in future DCEU films? Ever since the rebranding of the DCEU, Ben Affleck possibly leaving, no MOS2 announced at Comic-Con, and the lukewarm response to MOS, I can't help but become suspicious. He is my favorite cinematic Superman but I wouldn't be surprised if WB booted him in an effort to further separate the "new" DCEU brand from the "old" one.

13:35 Brandon - I know you have a VFX background so I have a VFX-related question for you. Is the main driver behind CGI’s high cost the computer rendering, or is it the cost of someone digitally altering each frame, or is it something else? Related to this question, assuming computers continue to get faster and more efficient over time, in 10+ years could CGI become much less expensive to do?

19:24 Last Journey - Hey John love the show! Do you think Marvel movies enjoy a double standard? Although I enjoy almost all of their movies, films like Iron Man 2, Thor 2 and Avengers 2 were notably weaker than the rest and Thor and Iron Man 2 I didn't like. I’m aware that this an and doesn't mean other people can’t enjoy them. I feel that they had a lot of issues that were overlooked by people and allowed for the films to be received more positively when maybe they shouldn't have been.
