The synthesizer-crazed duo EMOTIQUON met whilst training as double-decker bus drivers in Glasgow, learning only of each other's electronic music interests whilst passing under a low bridge at a terrifyingly high speed.

Starting off with some basic equipment and a laptop computer, Emotiquon gathered their ideas over long sessions in front of flashing lights and cult television comedy shows. Connecting their powerful brains together (using two metal collanders, a car battery, some jump leads and a food blender), the two began to edit their recordings down to manageable pop-sized chunks of audio colour

After some high profile remixes and the release of their first EP (Tokyo Bass Exchange was originally released in 2006 without a label), the band were invited to perform alongside Grand National on the main stage at the Altitude Festival (Meribel) in 2007. Meeting the band led to a remix of the fantastic "Cut By The Brakes", and consequently the formation of Microrave Records in order to release the track officially. Shaun Dimensional has continued releasing material on Microrave, recording as Voltergeist (his darker underground solo project) and working on exciting new Emotiquon music for future release.

Emotiquon pursue a love of hypnotic melodies, complex drum rhythms, and rolling bass lines. Scattering samples from their favourite television programs and films throughout their music, they come across as comedic, upbeat, and rather silly.

In 2010, the band have expanded with the addition of new member Mark Synthetique. His credentials? Well, he was the first person to buy an Emotiquon T-Shirt.
