Former Procul Harum drummer Bobby Harrison and its former organist Matthew Fisher made rock history performing the group's mega hit at Holy Trinity parish church, Rayleigh, on August 21, 2010.

I was honoured to be invited by Bobby and Matthew to record the event ( Canon Ixus 100IS ) in aid of the Church restoration fund.

A night to remember included A Whiter Shade of Pale, performed in public for the first time by Bobby and Matthew since the swinging 60s .

They were supported by the talented guys from Journey2Freedom Phil guitar, Dave drums, Maddy keyboard and Stuart bass.

Whiter Shade of Pale held number one spot for six weeks in the UK singles chart in 1967, its Bach-flavoured melody composed by Matthew, who also co-wrote The Wreck of the Hesperus, Long Gone Geek, Glimpse of Nirvana, and Quite Rightly So, with other members of the band.
