Embalmer formed in 1990. The group was formed By Toby Wulff -Bass and Vocals, Roy Stewart- Drums and Marc Davis- Lead Guitar. They had a sound that set them apart from almost every Death metal band in the genre. Sick Shredding Guitar Riffs, Vomited Vocals, Extreme Percussive Blasting, and Nauseating Song Title's. The band began playing out early 1991 and gained the attention of all sick metal fans in the Cleveland area. In Fall of 91 the band entered the studio and recorded their first demo "Into The Oven". They added second live guitarist at this time Scott Cunningham who lasted very briefly and by the time the demo hit the streets had been replaced by Duane Morris. The distribution worldwide of this demo had nothing but positive reviews and in 1992 the band stepped in the studio again to record a second demo. The demo never saw the light of day and Toby Wulff exited the band in late 92 followed closely by Duane MorrisSpring of 1993 saw the return of a new hybrid form of Embalmer. The line-up returned with Rick Fleming-Lead Vocals, John" Jocko" Jermann- Lead Guitar, and Brian Holmburg- Bass as well as Stewart and Davis. The band returned with a Blood Soaked Vengeance. Chainsaw Guitars, Shrieked and Gurgled Vocals, Blender Speed Drums, and Dark Horror Topics from The Fucking Grave. In Summer of 1993 they entered Prime Time Studio's and from that session was spawned the now legendary Rotting Remains demo. Upon it's release in Fall of 93, as the second official Embalmer demo, the sickness was unmistakable and it caught the attention of Relapse Records. The label began to distribute the demo worldwide with great reviews. The Band performed with the likes of Cannibal Corpse, Autopsy, Obituary, Malevolent Creation, Incantation, Immolation, and Mortician just to name a few. In late 1994 Brian Holmburg left the group and Toby Wulff returned on bass for a short time. Early 1995 saw Toby's second departure and the arrival of bassist Dave Phillips. The group entered Prime Time Studio's again in Summer of 1995 to record There Was Blood Everywhere. This limited edition 7" became even more legendary than the demo, therefore it only made sense that the two were combined into one c.d. release for Relapse Records Underground Series( later the c.d. would make number 6 in Revolver magazines top ten Gore Metal albums of all time list in 06. The band continued on till late 1997 when Lead Vocalist Rick Fleming quit the band due to others lack of commitment. They added on bassist Greg Jucuum and Vocalist Frank Walls played one show and broke up.In early 2005 Rick Fleming and Roy Stewart made the decision to reform Embalmer. They recruited Marc" Nissan" Davis and John" Jocko" Jermann for the Lead Guitar positions and Rob Lesniak on Bass. The Group jumped back on the scene and began playing in and out of state. It soon came to another line-up change, Marc and John both left the group and were replaced by Don Wolff and Duane Morris returning. In 2006 they self released 13 Faces Of Death. In late 2007 another change came when the Godfather of the blast Roy Stewart left the fold. Tim Powell replaced Roy and 2008 was a very dormant year. Early 2009 a two song promo was recorded with Fleming, Wolff, and Powell using Brian Baxter( Regurgitation) as a session bassist. 2010 Embalmer has finally returned to the live front and plans to work forward towards it's next full length The Apocalyptic Blood Shower
