DESCRIPTION:
Liberian American spoken word artist and historian, e.g. bailey, performs 'American African', with the Africa 7 band, his newest spoken word brainchild, mixing spoken word and Afrobeat. The performance was recorded live at Afrifest, held at the Epic nightclub in August 2008. It also featured Lew Hill (keyboards), Andrew Foreman (bass), Brian Van Tassel (percussions), Umar Malik (drums) and Matt Levitt (guitar), along with spoken word artists J. Otis Powell! and Sankaradjeki, and singer Mankwe Ndosi. Look for the upcoming album 'American African' to be released in April 2009 on Tru Ruts/Speakeasy Records.
