Ed Harcourt - You Give Me More Than Love - Video
PUBLISHED:  Feb 07, 2017
DESCRIPTION:
Shot on the frontline of Northern Iraq - “You Give Me More Than Love” is a Documentary Music Video collaboration between critically acclaimed Artist Ed Harcourt and award winning Conflict Journalist Christian Stephen.
The resulting piece attempts to combat not only a widespread ignorant and fearful portrayal of those fleeing war, but it is also an attempt to process the fevered atmosphere of the conflict in a different way.

A Statement from Director Christian Stephen -
“Media exposure is vast concerning the tidal wave of those seeking escape and refuge from the Islamic State.
An entire kaleidoscope of words and pictures (like these you’re reading now) reduced to a desperate and blood curdling effort to exhaust every adjective in order to properly articulate the human spirit that is outrunning pure evil.
Hours and hours of adrenaline pummeled footage showing refugee camps, tears, screaming, gunfire, explosions, loss of hope, and a pain throughout the soul that sometimes can not be communicated verbally.
Upon returning from one of many trips to Northern Iraq to report on the crisis within, I was fortunate enough to take courage and personal refuge in what was yet an undiscovered internal country, for myself at least.
That solace was the work of my dear friend, collaborator, brother, and herculean musical talent - Ed Harcourt.
We soon found that as I was releasing my frontline reports and He releasing his 7th studio album “Furnaces” that we had separately approached a similar, merciless near-limit of what could be communicated about our brutally dark, yet staggeringly beautiful world.
This video is a labour of love for us both, and an attempt to communicate the incommunicable. To defy the clinical packaging of a news report, and do our utmost to conjure a more emotive view of the conflict from an atmosphere all too easily relegated to the darkness.”
