When Nicole Wray announced she had joined Lady the Band earlier last year, many did not know what to expect. After all, the music was an old school soulful sound that was much different than the solo music we'd heard from her. However, the move has really worked out for Nicole and given her career a boost, and most importantly put her in a better position to once again release her solo material. YouKnowIGotSoul sat down with Nicole Wray prior to a recent Lady the Band performance in NYC and discussed how she originally joined the group, what her plans are for solo music in the future, memories of working with Static and Aaliyah, and much more.
