Cello Guitar Duo - Duo Vitare:
Agnieszka Kotulska-Rahunen, cello
Kimmo Rahunen, guitar
Music: Dusan Bogdanovic - La Harpe de David & Chant (from 4 pieces intimes)
Dusan Bogdanovic is a Serbian-born American composer and classical guitarist. He has explored musical languages which are reflected in his style today: a unique synthesis of classical, jazz and ethnic music. As a soloist and in collaboration with other artists, Bogdanović has toured extensively throughout Europe, Japan and the United States. Quatre pieces intimes for cello and guitar was composed in 1980's and it was dedicated to Croatian cellist Valter Despalj. In this piece you can hear the influence of Balkan folk music and Dusan's fascination for additive rhythms.
We shot this video in two locations in South Poland. The first part was shot in Galeria Szyb Wilson (Wilson Shaft Gallery) in Katowice. The pithead building and baths of the former "Richthofen" ("Wilson") shaft of the "Giesche" ("Wieczorek") mine from 1918 was designed by Emil and George Zillmann. After the closedown of the mine, it was adapted for a modern art gallery.
The second part was shot in Polish Mountains in the village of Koniaków, near the Czech and Slovakia border. We shot it in the highest point of he village at 5 A.M. The fog and the light of the rising sun made this magical atmosphere. Enjoy!
