2015's “Diversified” album proved unequivocally that Tantrum Desire has a spectrum-spanning palette to draw from. What with the undercurrent of deep house influence running through the tracklist and the excursions through tech, jungle and old skool sounds, it's clear that TD refuse to be pinned down to one classification.

One of the tracks that made a huge impression across raves and airwaves was “Pump”, championed by some of the biggest DJs on the scene from the moment it surfaced. Now, Drumsound & Bassline Smith have stepped up to reconfigure it for this series of remixes. So, we already know it's going to be killing off dances for the second time around.

DBS stamp their signature on the track right from the first note. Cinematic horns sculpt the intro into an epic, hands-in-the-air moment. And then it's all about the build. Arpeggiation meets the eponymous FXed vocal sample with a stomping kick progression to leave us in no doubt an almighty drop is coming.

The original version matched sparse drums with percussive plucks of synth-bass to create an irresistible skankers workout. This remix takes the elements and rearranges them into expert energy-building format. Drumsound & Bassline Smith begin with that stripped-back trap-style bass and beat and proceed to add complexity every sixteen bars. As it shifts up through the gears, this track takes the dance's hype levels with it.

These “Diversified” remixes continue the story that the LP started. The initial tracks demonstrated the multiple facets of Tantrum Desire's sound and now, even more layers have been revealed. This is an array of tunes equipped for every selector's set-list.
