PUBLISHED:  May 07, 2016
DESCRIPTION:
Very few drummers have had as strong influence on music and drumming in the last decades as Steve Gadd. Steve is one of the most well-known and highly regarded session and studio drummers in the industry. Gadd's groove on Paul Simon's "50 Ways to Leave Your Lover" and drum solo on Steely Dan's "Aja", are both examples of his seminal sound and signature style. He has worked with popular musicians from a wide range of genres in the past (including notably Simon & Garfunkel, Steely Dan, James Taylor, Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker + many more) and continues to inspire drummers to this day. We are extremely proud, that Steve has decided to share his experience from years of recording and touring with us and cooperate in the re-design of our Yamaha 2016 Recording Custom series in which we aimed to hance the character of the established Drum Series and consider demands of Drummers today.
Originally launched in 1975 the Recording Custom series (or 9000 series as it was known then) has become and Industry Standard drum set admired by world leading Drummers, Engineers, Studio’s and Hire companies around the world.
Regarded as the most recorded Drum Set in History, Yamaha´s All Birch design was instrumental in shaping the Modern Drum set as we know it today including Shell Construction, Interchangeable Hardware and High Gloss Lacquer finishing.
