The name’s Double S aka Street Sounds and I reside in Tottenham, North London.



I am unique in the sense that there aren’t many young artists who can actually write good songs. A lot of established artists get their work written for them. Here in the UK a lot of the independent artists tend to work for themselves & generally develop themselves as artists. Being sincere, I would agree that my work ethic is matched by a few. But I think overall I have a unique style that appeals to the younger generation, as I make authentic Grime music that speaks for the streets. Hence the name, Street Sounds.



From an early age, I was inspired by the likes of D Double E, Kano & Wiley, I used to listen to a lot of their stuff & it was their individuality that set them aside from others, they all had distinctive styles. As my passion for music got deeper I then wanted to create songs as opposed to freestyles. The current wave of artists who were on that vibe were The Movement. What set them aside was they were not just rave MC’s & did just sets which a lot of the younger generation take to at first, these guys were literally tempo specialists in their own right.



I am also a focal part of a team called Marvell which consist of Vertex, Shocka, DJ Limit & Myself. We are a group of naturally talented music artists, who grew up in the same residential area, with the same vision and drive to make music which speaks for the streets which sets us apart from other similar collectives. Keep your ears & eyes open, watching out for us because were heading to the top quicker than a 1 minute man, lol. Check out our myspace.



My core aim is to try and build a foundation and take not just music in general but the much talented Grime scene to the highest peak it could reach and even though I am young with time to progress, slacking isn’t an option so you aren’t going to stop hearing from me, even if you attempt to.
