Off the 2004 Radioland EP by producer Mumu, this is the lyrics-video for one of my favorite jams by Need Not Worry called "Dog Day Afternoon" (based off the 1975 Al Pacino movie "Dog Day Afternoon"). This is one of the best concept rap songs about inner city urban life and Need Not does so by vividly describing the urban city atmosphere and activities. In addition to the obscure Raekwon/Ghostface Killah sample and Charles Manson excerpt (in the end), this was simply a well-produced instrumental by Mumu, revealing a combination of guitar strings, drums and hand chimes/tambourine. But, what really impresses here are the lyrics with Need Not at his best: (0:35) "Eyes low pro so they need to WORRY NEED NOT/The beat knocks!/We keep the open seas locked/'Cause we cream crop when we holdin' down like these cops." Rap at its finest. Enjoy.
