Released in 2006 on Meteosound.

Daniel Meteo is a DJ / Producer / Record Label Owner from Berlin. He is also 1 1/2 of this electronic duo known as Bus. This is his 1st solo album.

Peruments is a pretty interesting piece of dub / electronica. Lots of unique sounds and song ideas, ranging from the more accessible and linear to the more abstract and ethereal. Good song composition, good production, interesting sound arrangements. Also has elements of experimental, ambient and house thrown into the mix.

The majority of the songs are carried by a consistent drum beat in which sounds swirl and come in and out of existence. Lots of very low bass, some abstract guitar use. Loads of intricate sounds and textures. Crackles, gurgles, wordless whispers, synth, sound decay. All good things.

This is a very chill album. Really good background music. A very consistent, aural treat. Not too demanding. It does reward closer listens. A cool little electronica album that is bursting with many vibrant ideas.

4/5
