Armed with an arsenal of powerful, high energy sets, un-paralleled stage presence, wicked track selection, and flawlessly intricate mixes, Narcotica consummates one totally irresistible performance that will get you addicted to Drum N Bass if you are not already. Since headlining in San Juan, Puerto Rico with Logistics and Bobby Jae for New Years Eve '07 and headlining in Caracas, Venezuela for a crowd of almost 2,000, plus scores of bookings throughout the US, it's no wonder there are already several other shows in the works for '08, including the UK, the US, Spain, and Canada.
Hailing originally from Tennessee, now out of Los Angeles, some knew her as Larissa, but today she is known as one of North America's foremost up-and-coming female Drum N Bass DJ's and producers. Narcotica has always recognized what she wanted to do with her life, as anyone that knew her would attest. Since she could speak, Larissa informed everyone about her love of music, saying that she would eventually move to L.A. when she became older. With unrivaled perseverance and dedication, nothing could stop her.
Since first touching the turntables, Narcotica was in love with mixing. Practicing every day for six to eight hours was not uncommon. Less than a year later, she moved to Orlando, FL, to attend college, and she became a resident at the Alpha Bar on Tuesdays. Before moving to L.A. in February of '06, she met the Trajikstyle crew, where she played as a resident in Gainesville, FL.
Studying music theory for 12 years, voice for over 8, along with musical theatre, music history, piano, and guitar, her extensive credentials in the music business and her profound knowledge of Electronic, Classical, Jazz, Rock, Folk, and Latin, have given her the qualifications and diversity to excel in this industry. At the age of just fifteen, Larissa was accepted into the prestigious Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN, and was one three soloists out of just twenty-four girls. She went on to attend one of the most premier and most in-demand private universities for music and entertainment in the world, Full Sail Real World Education, in Orlando, FL, where she received her Associate of Science Degree in Recording Arts and her Bachelor of Science Degree in Entertainment Business. There, she studied with extremely talented teachers and students from all over the world.
Writing music since age 3, she now has over 75 original songs, with many more in the making. She has also done several DNB collaborations, working on a tune alongside the Drum N Bass don, AK1200 as well as the highly acclaimed electronica producer, Scobra, who has worked with top artists, such as the Wu-Tang Clan; Stacy Grant, who is the daughter of Led Zeppelin's lead singer, Robert Plant; and Colleen Kelley, who is currently recording vocals for the Trance superstar, Paul Oakenfold. Her years of training, combined with a birthright of gifted natural talent for composing and transcribing music, have helped set her apart from other DJ's, producers, and composers. Thanks go out to her affiliates, Electroroot in Venezuela, Trajikstyle in Florida, along with Abstrakt Dimentionz and SoCal Selectress California. Big shouts go out to all of you who have supported her throughout the years.
